Our Team

The Bridge of Culture team is a diverse and passionate group of individuals spanning 10+ cities worldwide. Organized into six key departments, we collaborate to foster cross-cultural understanding, empower immigrant and international youth, and drive impactful initiatives.

FOUNDERS

Co-Chief Executive Officer:

Jasmine Luk

As a Senior in Vancouver, Jasmine has lived and studied in London, Hong Kong, and Canada; cultivating a deep level of understanding for international/ immigrant students, as well as the importance of cross-cultural understanding. She is passionate about law, entrepreneurship, and enjoys going to the beach.

Kaitlyn Fung

Kaitlyn is a Junior in Toronto. Born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada in 2021, she understands the struggles of international/immigrant students and strives to empower them academically, socially, and personally. Kaitlyn is an aspiring psychology student, with great interest in the field of science.

Charlotte Chan

Charlotte is grade 12 student studying in Vancouver, Canada. She’s passionate about the violin and can be seen playing in various solo performances throughout the year. Charlotte aspires to pursue a career in law.

Samantha Chu

Samantha is a grade 11 student studying in Hong Kong. With several close friends who immigrated to other countries, she is more than familiar with the challenges that international students might face. She has a passion for singing, playing classical music and debating.

Emily Wu

Emily is a junior in Toronto, Canada, raised by first-generation immigrant parents. Growing up in a multicultural environment, she understands the value of hard work and resilience, which has shaped her academic and personal goals. She wishes to pursue a future in engineering.

John Huang

My name is John, and I’m currently a senior. I’m from New York. One of my hobbies is playing basketball. One fun fact about me is that I’ve been to all five boroughs before.

Cate Shumka

Cate is a junior studying in Vancouver, Canada. She is passionate about politics & public speaking. In her free time, you can find her in a cafe working on papers for Model United Nations or holed up in her room fangirling over her favorite k-pop groups.

Ava Tirk

Ava Tirk is a sophomore from Pennsylvania, USA. Some of her favorite things to do in her free time is read, sing, and craft. One fun fact about is that she owns a small nail service business.

Valerie Chan

Valerie Chan is excited to join Bridge of Culture as Finance Director. With a background in finance and mathematics, she has experience managing budgets and financial documents. Her journey from Hong Kong to Canada fuels her passion for cultural exchange.

Emma Liu

Emma Liu is an 11th grader at Hudson High School in Ohio. Outside the classroom, she loves spending time in the garden, sketching, and playing tennis. A fun fact about Emma: she can speak backwards!

Hailey Chan

Hailey is a Grade 11 student in Toronto, Canada, who is pleased to join BOC as the Chief Marketing Officer. Along with her passion for sports and playing musical instruments, she is also interested in psychology & photography.

Haylee Lum

Haylee Lum lives in the UK. Her hobbies are drawing and listening to music! A fun fact about her is that she likes every genre of music.

Anaya Hamid

Anaya is a high school senior in New Jersey. She is passionate about creativity and design, constantly exploring new ways to express herself through her art. A fun fact is that she read 50 books last year!

Isabella Ngan

Isabella Ngan is a senior, studying in Vancouver. She enjoys engaging in clubs such as Model United Nations, Business and STEAM where she is able to envision and broaden her views of the world. In her free time, she goes on hikes & plays badminton.

Sophia Kim

Sophia Kim is a grade 11 student based in West Vancouver, BC. She enjoys swimming, travelling, watching TV shows, and listening to Billie Eilish. She hopes to one day become a pediatric surgeon. A fun fact is that she has an identical twin sister.

Evelyn Tang

Evelyn Tang is a grade 10 student from Vaughan, Canada. She enjoys playing basketball and creating social media content. A fun fact about her is that she speaks fluent French.

Zahwa is from Rhode Island and in the twelfth grade. In her spare time, she likes to read, write, and bake!

Mikayla Thai

Mikayla is a grade 12 student at Little Flower Academy. She lives in Vancouver, BC, where she was born and raised. She loves listening to music and her favourite artists include Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. A fun fact is that she feels most productive after 11pm.

Aster is a grade 9 student from Vancouver studying at Little Flower academy. A hobby of hers is dancing and biking. A fun fact is that she is double jointed.

Claire Zhang is a grade 11 student studying in Ontario. She spends her spare time drawing, painting, reading, and listening to music! A fun fact about Claire is that she has a wide imagination, allowing her to engulf into any book she reads.

Harleen Kaur is a grade 12 student from Vancouver, Canada. Her hobbies include sketching, journaling and baking. She likes collecting cute stationary and stickers in her free time as well.

Thanvi Dhayalan is a senior from Southern California. She loves hanging out with friends and trying new foods in new places. While she wants to be a neurologist, she seeks to expand her understanding of cultural awareness & international connection.
